Stage Door at Sanford

Stage Door at Sanford is an after school drama program offering acting and musical theatre training to young people grades 2 - 12.

The program is open to all in this age group, including students outside of Sanford School, with Sanford students having first enrollment priority.

CLASSES

The winter/spring class session will run from January - May, 2011.  Students enroll for an entire session, with concessions for family and medical emergencies when proper notice is provided.

Many activities will be “movement-based” so students should wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe, rubber soled shoes, such as sneakers.

 INTRO TO MUSICAL THEATRE

This class will be an exploration of all things musical theatre, including acting, singing, and movement.  Using theatre games and exercises, students will develop their acting and stage skills, work on basic movement and dance combinations, and perform music repertoire.  Students will execute songs and scenes from the musical theatre genre. The final class will be a showcase of these accomplishments for all.
